A proposito di due interessanti Associazioni. Take A Look At These Two Associations

Nella Lingua Italiana:

In Roma ci sono due interessanti associazioni di cui vi voglio parlare.

La prima, O.A.S.I. (Organizzare, Aiutare, Sostenere, Indigenti), esiste già da 28 anni. Essa e' costituita da un piccolo gruppo di persone di vario ceto sociale che si occupa esclusivamente di dare una mano alle Missioni all'estero; naturalmente su loro richiesta e, quando hanno ricevuto l'aiuto, specificano come l'hanno utilizzato. Si radunano una volta al mese, ascoltano la Santa Messa e pianificano le loro successive iniziative.

Questo gruppo trae forza dalla convizione che anche se quanto viene devoluto a "questi piccoli" non è mai una grande cifra, essa, però, significa una amorosa condivisione alla loro sofferenza.
Il desiderio è che si aggiungano a questo gruppo dei giovani elementi che apportino nuove idee, o
persone "mature" che offrano la loro esperienza.

La seconda, "ANNA" ( dal nome della profetessa del Vangelo di Luca) è formata da vedove cattoliche. Essa ha come scopo quello di aiutare spiritualmente e culturalmente queste persone.
Le vedove (attualmente una sessantina) si radunano una volta al mese per la Santa Messa e pianificano le iniziative religiose e culturali come: visite a mostre, musei, Chiese e pellegrinaggi.

Entrambe, come luogo di raduno è l'Istituto delle Suore Figlie della Croce in via Santa Giovanna Elisabetta 25. Roma (traversa della Cassia)

Entrambe le associazioni hanno un loro Assistente Spirituale ed un loro giornale mensile.

I want to tell you about 2 interesting associations here in Rome.

The first is called O.A.S.I which comes from the Italian: Organizzare/Organize, Aiutare/Help, Sostenere/Sustain, Indigenti/The Poor.

O.A.S.I has existed for 28 years and is made up of a small group of people from various backgrounds who focus exclusively on giving a helping hand to the foreign missions who request their help and when these missions receive this help, they tell the group how they have used it.

O.A.S.I. meets once a month. At their meetings they participate in the Eucharist, and then plan their various iniatives. The members draw their strength from the conviction that even if the amount given to these "poor brothers and sisters" is not that big, it does show their heartfelt desire to share in their sufferings and development.

The O.A.S.I. group hopes that young people will join them bringing with them new ideas, as well as "mature" people who can offer their experience to the group.

The second group I want to tell you about is called "ANNA", after the widowed female prophet in the Gospel of Luke, and it is made up of Catholic widows. It was formed to help widows spiritually and culturally. The widows of the group who number about 60 meet once a month for the Eucharist and to plan their various religious and cultural initiatives, such as: visits to exhibitions, museums, churches noted for their history and art, and pilgrimages.

Both O.A.S.I. and ANNA have their meetings in Rome at the Institute of the Sisters, Daughters of the Cross, at 25 Via Santa Giovanna Elisabetta (this street crosses the Via Cassia in the Vigna Clara area of Rome).

And both groups have their own Spiritual Assistant and their own monthly newsletter.

Ci sono 2 tipi di orologi

Secondo James Carroll nel suo articolo "Tenere il tempo", sull'International Herald Tribune (17-feb-2011), ci sono due tipi di orologi :uno dei quali è chiamato analogico che ha un quadrante e le lancette, l'altra mostra solo l'ora e il minuto.

La differenza è enorme, perché il primo, l'orologio analogico ci ricorda il passato e ci mostra il futuro. La seconda è il frutto della moderna tecnologia. Essa mostra come il nostro modo veloce di vivere ci porta a ridurre il tempo alla sua forma essenziale. Esso è distaccato, freddo. Il passato non è importante quanto lo è stato..

Abbiamo bisogno di apprezzare entrambe le forme di lettura dell'ora, perché l'orologio digitale ci spinge ad agire nel presente, senza esitazione. Ma noi esseri umani abbiamo sentimenti, abbiamo la storia sulle nostre spalle, noi siamo figli del passato e genitori del futuro. E 'importante ogni tanto dare uno sguardo indietro al nostro passato, perché ci sono cose che abbiamo ricevuto dal passato e ci sono cose che possiamo imparare da quello che è successo prima d'ora. Queste lezioni devono essere attuate nel presente e nel futuro.

There are 2 kinds of clocks

According to James Carroll in his article “Keeping Time” in the international Herald Tribune (17-Feb-2011),there are 2 kinds of clocks. One of them is called analog which has a face and hands, the other one only shows the hour and the minutes.

The difference is enormous, because the first one, the analog clock reminds us of the past and shows us the future. The second one is the fruit of modern technology. It shows how our fast way of living brings us to reduce time to its essential form. It is clinical. The past is not as important as it used to be.


We need to appreciate both forms of telling time because the digital clock pushes us to act in the present without hesitation. But we humans have feelings, we have history on our shoulders, we are children of the past and parents of the future. It’s important every now and then to give a look back to our past; for there are things we have received from the past and there are things we can learn from what happened before now. These lessons need to be implemented in the present and in the future.

Ci sono tre cose nella vita che una volta passate ,non tornano più:

Il tempo, le parole, le opportunità.

Ci sono tre cose nella vita che possono distruggere una persona.

L’ira, l’orgoglio, il non perdonare.

Ci sono tre cose nella vita che non devi perdere:

la pace,l’onestà,la speranza

Ci sono tre cose nella vita che sono di grande valore:

l’amore,la famiglia,gli amici

Ci sono tre cose nella vita che formano una persona:

la sincerità,l’impegno,il duro lavoro.



Chiedi a Dio che ti benedica, ti guidi e ti protegga nel tuo cammino terreno.
L’amore di Dio sarà sempre con te, le Sue promesse sono veritiere.
Quando affidi a Dio le tue preoccupazioni, Lui ti custodirà e ti accompagnerà nel giusto sentiero.


There are three things


There are three things in life that when they are gone they do not return: time, the spoken word and opportunities.

There are three things in life that can destroy a person: anger, pride and not forgiving.

There are three things in life that you shouldn't lose: peace, honesty and hope.

There are three things in life that are of great value: love, family and friends.

There are three things in life that mold a person: sincerity, effort and hard work.

Ask God that He blesses you, that He guides you and that He protects you on your earthly journey. May the love of God be always with you. His promises are faithful. When you entrust God with your worries He protects you and will guide you on the right path.

The lord is my Shepherd

Pastore esemplare nella Chiesa è Gesù: é lui a guidare i credenti. Nel brano di Giovanni egli si presenta anche come la " porta delle pecore", attraverso la quale esse passano per entrare nell'ovile e per uscire al pascolo. Non ci sono altri spazi ed altri passaggi di salvezza. " Se uno entra attraverso di me, sarà salvato".
Cristo è l'antitesi del ladro, dello sfruttatore.
L'area della redenzione è tutta ricoperta dalla sua opera, ossia dal suo sacrificio, essendo venuto a dare la vita e a darla in abbondanza con il dono di se stesso.


Jesus is the model Shepherd in the Church: he guides believers. In Saint John's Gospel, John presents the Good Shepherd as the sheep's gate through which they pass in order to enter the sheepfold and through which they exit to go to pasture. There are no other ways to be saved. Jesus said, "I am the gate. Whoever enters trough me will be saved".
Jesus is the opposite of the thief or the hired man. Only through his sacrifice is humanity saved. He came to give his life so that we may have life in abundance.

Christ light of the world

The following are excerpts from an artcle by Mrs. Helen Hull Hitchcock in the American magazin,"Voices"

One of the most universal images in all of Christianity is that of Jesus as light of the world.
Light is the opposite of darkness,of course. In any case, light overcomes darkness,reveals what is hidden,concealed,and makes it possible for us to see our sorroundings clearly. Light revales the truth.

But there is another aspect of natural light: the warmth it generates.
Light is also necesary for anything to grow. Light is intimitly connected with life.
Without light,life is impossible.

Light is so fundamental to the world that God created light on the first day of creation.

Cristo luce del mondo/Christ light of the world

Da un articolo della Signora Elena Hull Hitchcock riportato nella rivista americana “Voices”.


Uno delle immagini più universali in tutta la Cristianità è quella di Gesù come “Luce del mondo”.
La luce è l’opposto del buio, si sa. In ogni caso la luce sovrasta le tenebre, rivela quanto è nascosto, occultato e rende possibile a noi vedere chiaramente ciò che ci circonda. La luce rivela la verità.
Ma c’è un altro aspetto della luce naturale: il calore che essa genera. La luce è del resto necessaria per tutto ciò che deve crescere. La luce è intimamente connessa alla vita. Senza luce la vita è impossibile.
La luce è così fondamentale per il mondo che Dio ha creato la luce il primo giorno della creazione.
L’immagine di Cristo come luce del mondo è ripetuta anche nella sacre Scritture (Isaia capt.8 verso 20,22 come pure Isaia 9 verso 2,6-7).
Nel discorso della montagna Gesù ha detto: Voi siete la luce del mondo…
Lascia che la tua luce risplenda davanti agli uomini che così vedano le tue buone opere e glorifichino Dio (Matteo verso 14-16).
Gesù stesso ha detto :Io sono la Luce del mondo” …” Chi segue me non camminerà nel buio, ma avrà la luce della vita” ( Giovanni 8-12)
Chi crede in Gesù ed è unito a Lui possiede la Sua luce, così noi pure diventiamo la “luce del mondo” diffondendo il vangelo a tutte le genti.
