parte terza di" posso darti un consiglio"/ part three of " can I give you some advice"?

It doesn't matter in what circumstances of life you find yourself tired. What matters is that you are always peaceful; by giving yourself space to rest, you will allow yourself the possibility of new opportunities. In this way, you gain strength and renew your hope for a better life.

Have you suffered a lot in this period of your life? Are you tired of life?
The"night..." this night comes to all of us. Sometimes this night comes in the form of illness or of tiredness, or of a sadness of spirit, or of anger or of fear.

However, Jesus sees you: He knows what you are capable of doing in this night when you are being thrown back and forth by the waves of your emotions. He sees how tired you are as you struggle to row "your boat" against a strong wind.

Well, I want to tell you that this dark and stormy night has a dawn - the Mercy of the Lord will be a light for you in this darkness.

Parte II° Ti posso dare un consiglio? / Part II: Can I Give You Some Advice?

A continuation of last week's post:

When there's no longer any light in your eyes, nor any radiant emotion shining in them; when your mouth is closed, because you no longer find anything pleasant to say, nor have anything pleasent to listen to, be calm.

If you feel you have lost so many beautiful qualities in yourself, and in your life; if you have problems at work or maybe have suffered betrayed love or you still don't have work or have some illness at home; you too, even as you are, are invitated to remain calm.

Stay tuned: to be continued next week

Il periodo di vacanze, deve essere un periododi ristoro fisico e spirituale/ Summer vacation should be a time of physical and spiritual renewal.

(Foto presa da Rosella Laiolo a Machu Pichu/ photo of Machu Pichu taken by Rosella Laiolo)

In order to have a great summer vacation it's a good idea not to overdo your physical rest, rather you might want to do some creative work with your hands.Don't forget to read some good books, above all reread the classics; especially read some spiritual books. Also listen to some good music, music that doesn't deafen you, but which rather lifts up your emotions and truly helps you to relax.
Have a good vacation! We'll continue our reflections on the journeys in hope in September. God bless you!

Seconda parte della preghiera/ the second part of the prayer

AMEN

O Lord, let my will, which is perhaps a bit weak, bend lovingly to the just desires of those around me,but without losing the firmness of my Faith and convictions.
Let my Faith, humbly and discretly, radiate around me as a permanent witness. I wish with your help to make your yoke pleasant to everyone, for as you told us, "my yoke is sweet and my burden light".
Let, o Lord, let me accept with umility that my intelligence is less active, briliant and rapid.
Let it, however, always apply itself with greater intensity to seek and know you so that I can better understand the promise of eternal life that you made to those who seek you.
O Lord my God, help me to detach myself always more, to forget myself and to give myself with you and for you. AMEN

Preghiera per invecchiare bene/ A prayer to grow old gracefully

Cardinal Jean Villot wrote a lovely prayer to grow old gracefully.

O Lord, please replace in me what I am losing slowly with the passing of the years.
In place of the diminishing strength, fill me with a greater love so that I can give myself with greater simplicity and gentleness.
In place of enthusiam, give me a smile of goodness towards everyone; so that, like you, I can always be available and open to my neighbor.
Help me, not only to understand and bear the others, but to be interested in what they are doing, and never to be a black cloud even if tiredness and sadness invade my heart.
Let me remember the more beautiful and pleasant things of life, so that I can share with them
these past joys and enjoy their present happiness.

Hai paura della vecchiaia?/ Are you afraid of becoming old?

General Douglas McArthur (1880-1964) wrote:"We don't become old because we have been hit by a certaiin number of years; we become old because we have abbandoned our ideals. The years furrow our flesh and if we renounce our ideals, we furrow our soul.
A young person is he/she who is capable of amazement and wonder. As an insatiable child, the young person ask, " and so?". You are young when you can trust. You are as old as your doubts.
You are as young as your hope. You are as old as you are sad or discourage."
