Per incominciare a parlare di aiuto alle persone che soffrono possiamo iniziare dall'incoraggiamento che si può offrire alle vedove.
Il cardinale Giovanni Lajolo ha preparato una preghiera, (la incontrerai nel succesivo post) in occasione del primo incontro delle vedove cattoliche facenti parte dell'Associazione chiamata "Anna". Anna era la vedova profetessa nominata dall'Evangelista Luca. Ella fu la prima donna vedova che riconobbe in Gesù bambino, durante la presentazione al Tempio, il MESSIA che doveva venire.
Il cardinale Lajolo ha patrocinato la formazione di questa associazione perché già fin dai primissimi tempi del Cristianesimo, gli Apostoli si raccomandavano che si desse particolare attenzione alle vedove.

Cardinal John Lajolo prepared a prayer which you'll find in the next post. He wrote this prayer for the first meeting of the Association of Catholic Widows called "ANNA". Anna was a widow and a prophetess who is mentioned by the evangelist, St. Luke in his Gospel. Anna was the first widow who, at the Presentation of Jesus in the temple, recognized in the Child Jesus the future Messiah.
Cardinal Lajolo encouraged and supported the initial steps of this association because the Apostles, since the earliest days of the Church, always recommended that their followers give special attention to widows.
