Signore Gesù
Tu hai conosciuto tutto il dolore
della Madre tua Maria,
allorchè rimase vedova
del suo castissimo sposo Giuseppe.
Tu, dai primi anni della vita fino al Calvario,
hai voluto presenti nella tua missione
anche alcune donne vedove.
Lord Jesus
You knew all the pain
Your Mother, Mary, suffered
when she became the widow
of her most chaste Spouse, Joseph
You, from your earliest years until Calvary,
also wanted widows to be part
of Your mission.
Signore, mio Dio!
La mia vita sta tutta dinnanzi a te.
Tu di essa conosci la luce
che mi hai dato nell’amore coniugale,
e le rinunce e prove grandi
della mia condizione vedovile.
Lord, my God!
My whole life is present to you.
You know well the light you gave me
in married love,
and you also know the cost and the great suffering
of my current state of widowhood.
