che significa essere forti/ what does it mean to be strong?

To be strong means to radiate happiness even when you feel sad.
To be strong means to seek to pardon someone who does not merit it.
To be strong means to love someone in silence.
To be strong means to hope even when things seem hopeless.
To be strong means to show joy even when you don't feel like it.
To be strong means to be calm even when you feel desperate.
To be strong means to smile even when you want to cry.
To be strong means to make someone happy even when your heart is broken.
To be strong means to keep the Faith.
To be strong means to keep quiet even if you would want to scream at everything that makes you unhappy
To be strong means to console others even when you need to be consoled
Therefore, notwithstanding how hard and difficult life appears to be,
LOVE AND BE STRONG!

Ecco la ricetta nelle varie tristi circostanze/ here are some biblical citations to go to in sad times

Dove cercare aiuto nella sofferenza/ Here's where you can go for help in times of suffering

Lei funziona in qualsiasi posto.

I was sent an interesting reflection.
" imagine what would happen if we treated the Bible like we treat our mobile phone?
Imagine if we always carried our Bible in our handbag or suit coat pocket as we carry our mobile phone?
Imagine if we looked at our Bible every so often during the day?
Imagine if we searched for it when we forgot it at home or in the office?
Imagine if we used it to sende messages to our friends?
Imagine if we treated it as if we couldn't live without it?
Imagine if we gave it as gifts to children?
And imagine if we used it when we travel?
And if we took it with us in case of emergency?
Unlike the mobile phone, the Bible never loses its connection.
It always functions in any place.
We never have to worry about running out of money, because Jesus has already paied and his credit never runs out.
Even better, the line never falls, and the battery lasts for all our life.

E' meglio il dolore fisico o quello morale?/ Which is better, physical or moral pain?

Dal libro "Saper Soffrire" di Nino Salvaneschi edit. Dall'Oglio.

From Nino Salvaneschi's book "Saper Soffrire":
"Physical or moral pain - which is better? While both of these types of pains make us feel terrible, they can also be an invitation to improve ourselves. But it is more important to consider our spirit.
Some times it's true, physical sofferings make us feel miserable; they poison our soul and progressively suck out all our energy.
So, if we are lacking interior strength and our spirit doesn't react, physical suffering is worse.
But when we are directly hit by interior sufferings which are not connected to physical illness nor is the heart able to control them..... our soul almost always suffers much more.

Signore Gesù,

ora e sempre sii tu per me

pienezza di vita!

Accetta anche me

in particolare di altre donne, vedove come me,

e amarti come tu ci ami.

Lord Jesus,

be the fullness of life for me now and always!

Accept me as a livimg instrument of your love

for others who are enduring pain and suffering;

in particular other women, who are widows like me.

Help me to share my experiences with them.

May they also know

through my spiritual and sisterly effort,

your loving and providential gaze

and love You as You love us.

Maria, la Madre tua e nostra,

insieme alle altre Sante Vedove,

ci ottenga da te ogni grazia,

perché i limiti della nostra attuale condizione

siano trasformati in particolare occasione di grazia.

Amen.

May Mary your mother and ours
together with all the other Holy Widows,
obtain for us from You every grace,
so that the limits of our current condition
may be transformed into particular moments of grace.

PREGHIERA DELL’ASSOCIAZIONE “ANNA”

Prayer of the Association "Anna"

Lord Jesus

You knew all the pain

Your Mother, Mary, suffered

when she became the widow

of her most chaste Spouse, Joseph

You, from your earliest years until Calvary,

also wanted widows to be part

of Your mission.

Signore, mio Dio!

La mia vita sta tutta dinnanzi a te.

Tu di essa conosci la luce

che mi hai dato nell’amore coniugale,

e le rinunce e prove grandi

della mia condizione vedovile.

Lord, my God!

My whole life is present to you.

You know well the light you gave me

in married love,

and you also know the cost and the great suffering

of my current state of widowhood.

There is a prayer in the suffering of death

The prophetess Anna who announced Jesus as the Messiah.

Let's start speaking about how we can help the people who suffer. Let's begin with the widows and see what kind of encouragement we can give them.

Cardinal John Lajolo prepared a prayer which you'll find in the next post. He wrote this prayer for the first meeting of the Association of Catholic Widows called "ANNA". Anna was a widow and a prophetess who is mentioned by the evangelist, St. Luke in his Gospel. Anna was the first widow who, at the Presentation of Jesus in the temple, recognized in the Child Jesus the future Messiah.

Cardinal Lajolo encouraged and supported the initial steps of this association because the Apostles, since the earliest days of the Church, always recommended that their followers give special attention to widows.

The website for this Association for Catholic Widows can be found at www.associazionevedovecattoliche.com
(At the moment, this website is in Italian, but an English edition with its own web address will be available soon.)

At the Association's website, you'll be able to find all the pertinent information, as well as its initiatives for widows.

Nevertheless, the Association already has an email address: associazionevedovecattoliche@yahoo.it (Please feel free to write in English.)

If you know of any widows who would be interested in this Assoication, please give them email address: associazionevedovecattoliche@yahoo.it
